“It doesn’t get any more American than the Charcoal Pit on Concord Pike in North Wilmington, Delaware. Opened in 1956, ‘The Pit’ quickly became a landmark eatery. It is a favorite of President Biden, whose 1967 Corvette convertible sits out front in my print, and President Obama made a surprise visit in 2014.
